In 2014, the St Charles’ school community of the past and present came together to celebrate 160 years of Catholic education in the Waverley area. The Poor Clare Sisters began educating the students of St Charles’ in 1879 and remained for the next 112 years. St Charles’ Catholic Primary School Waverley has been educating generations of students since 1854, making our school one of the oldest educational sites in Australia.The Franciscan Friars took charge of the Parish in 1879 and so the Franciscan tradition at St Charles Borromeo School began.
